A few kilometres inland from the northern coast of the beautiful island Mallorca is Valdemossa. Every year many tourists visit this village in the Serra de Tramuntana, to wander around in the picturesque streets. This can be done in peace, because in many streets there are no cars aloud. Still, with only three hotels, the village has managed to keep its traditional character.During the day the village can be packed by sightseers, but in the evening turns quiet. This is something to take in account, for example a lot of restaurants close early.

This quote of George Sand is still endorsed by visitors today. He was one of the two most famous inhabitants of Valdemossa, together with his love Frederic Chopin. They fled from Paris to this beautiful island and lived in the Royal Carthusian Monastery .

This is one of the main reasons why more and more people from northern Europe come to this wonderful island.It is easy to come around on the island from Valldemossa. It is near the capital, Palma de Mallroca, from where there are several busses leaving to every corner of the island.In definitely, a charming place to live.
